Level up with peer tutoring!

Sometimes, we can all use a little extra help or reassurance in one or more courses.  Have no fear – the peer tutors are here!  The Center for Academic & Career Services (CACS) provides free individual and small group peer tutoring to all Mount Saint Mary College students. Our peer tutors are highly recommended by college faculty on the basis of their knowledge, communication skills and interpersonal abilities.  

The purpose of peer tutoring is to help you become an active and independent learner. Working with a tutor can enrich your understanding of the course material, help you focus on what is important in the class, and help you apply better study methods. Research has shown that most of the students receiving support from a CACS peer tutor see an improvement in their academic performance.

The CACS peer tutors provide customized support to students for most subject areas and have the inside knowledge of the rigor and teaching styles of MSMC faculty.  However, in the event that your schedule doesn’t align with a peer tutors (we know students are busy!) or in the event that we don’t have a tutor for a specific course, we also offer tutoring services through a virtual tutoring platform called ThinkingStorm, which is available to students 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
